The boys of 5 Seconds of Summer recently dropped a new single over the weekend to the surprise of their fans. The new track titled “She’s Kinda Hot” is their first single since they released “Good Girls” back in 2004.
5SOS’ “She’s Kinda Hot” took online community by storm. According to the Daily Mail, the single already reached three million views in a span of four days and counting. It also reached number seven on the Australian iTunes chard. The song also appeared to the US fans, as it reportedly became the most shared song on Twitter.
The publication reported that the new track showed a much more mature side of the Australian group. The songs is co-written by “The Voice” Australia coaches together with hit-makers Joel and Benji Madden.
It was said that 5SOS members Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin and Michael Clifford are all looking forward to releasing a new song in collaboration with the Madden brothers. It was said that the influence of the two can be seen in the coming tracks. Fans of the group, however, do not have to worry as their distinct sound is still evident in the new album.
“She’s Kinda Hot” is the first single to be released from their second album, set to be released later this 2015. Its predecessor, 5SOS’ self-titled album, was well received by fans and got a 65 out of 100 average rating on Metacritic. It also debuted at number one at the US’ Billboard 200 and sold over 260,000 copies in its first week.
