A-list actor Johnny Depp has signed on to portray author Theodore Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The role will not be the first time that the actor has portrayed a famous author on screen. He portrayed the role of writer J.M. Barrie, author of ‘Peter Pan,’ in the flick ‘Finding Neverland.’ Depp will be producing the film, along with Christopher Meledandri, David Kennedy, and Christi Christi Dembrowski. Keith Bunin has been tapped to write the screenplay.
Dr. Seuss is best known for his early political cartoons and many children’s books including “Horton Hears a Who!,” “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” and “Green Eggs and Ham.” Several of his books have been made into both live action and animated films.
