Someone’s leaving “The Vampire Diaries” soon. Read on to learn more about this scoop.
Steven McQueen, who plays Jeremy, is leaving the show. Yes, the brooding Jeremy who has gone through a lot — from being a drug addict to dying for numerous times and living again and losing people in his lives. It’s really impressive to see him still standing amidst everything that has happened to him and also the fact that he’s actually someone who has the ability and the skills to fight off the supernaturals. And as of this writing, his sister is now a vampire. With all of these happening, the kid needs a break.
Julie Plec, the executive producer of the show, explained on how McQueen will exit “The Vampire Diaries.”
“I wouldn’t dare kill Jeremy; I think that would be all forms of cruelty. But I do think that he’s a man now, he’s not a little kid anymore and he’s got to live his life. it’s time for him to get started doing that. As we continue to grow and add new characters and grow up our characters, every year we assess where our characters are and we decide is it time for them to grow up and move on, is it time for them to die, where are they going, what can their departure do to other characters, what can their departure do for their own character. We weigh the pros and cons of keeping or losing anybody at any given point, which is what keeps the show a little bit fresh is that you do actually say goodbye to people,” she said during the 2015 Winter TCA Press Tour, as published on E! News.
So don’t worry guys, he’s not going to die, but he’s starting fresh and going to art school to be able to express his emotions in a healthier way.
