A brand new series is heading its way to ABC, bringing with it a sense of family. According to Deadline, the network has given writers and producers Greg Garcia and Eric Falconer a script commitment for their latest TV project entitled “The Barrio.” Read on to learn more about the story.

Eric Falconer, on whose life the show is based on, is a producer and a writer, known for producing “The Sarah Silverman Program” (2007 to 2010), “Blue Mountain State” (2010 to 2011), and the hit situation comedy “How I Met Your Mother” (2012 to 2013). Falconer, who will be writing the series, is also working on a “Blue Mountain State” film, which is being supported and funded by Kickstarter. Kickstarter is a website where people post their projects, and appeal to people to donate for their projects to happen.
Greg Garcia, also a writer and a producer, is no stranger to family comedies, as he has written and created five of those kinds as of today. He created and wrote “Built To Last” (1997), “Yes, Dear” (2000 to 2006), “My Name Is Earl” (2005 to 2009), “Raising Hope” (2010 to 2014), and “The Millers” (2013 to 2014). Garcia will be co-executive producing “The Barrio” alongside Falconer.
The series will be produced by CBS TV Studios and Greg Garcia’s Amigos de Garcia. Amigos de Garcia was also the production house for Garcia’s television work, such as “Yes, Dear”, “My Name is Earl” and “The Millers”.
