“Cristela” stars Cristela Alonzo and her journey towards reaching her American dream. For one, she is big—big dreams, big girl. Cristela is in her sixth year in law school when she is offered with a once in a lifetime internship in a well-respected law firm. Cristela’s dream of success turns her into an ambitious woman, which her Mexican-American family thinks is getting out of hand. She is trying to get her family acquainted with the ways of her “modern” life, which her job entails. However, she sees herself back in her old ways.
Cristela will try to find her way and herself in the process as she deals with her mother urging her to find a real job, her brother-in-low forcing her to leave and her sister running low of patience.
In addition, Alonzo has appeared in several shows such as “Last Comic Standing,” “Conan” and “Live at Gotham.”
