ABC has a new medieval comedy TV series called “Galavant” and even if musical TV series don’t really have a great track record, it looks like this one from ABC is something that people will actually like and watch. Read on to learn more about ABC’s “Galavant” and to see its first trailer.
According to its official Web site, “Galavant” has Dan Fogelman (“Tangled”) as its screenwriter and executive producer along with composer Alan Menken (“The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Aladdin“) and lyricist Glenn Slater (“Tangled”). With these geniuses behind this new TV show, we have high expectations for this and hopefully, they will not disappoint.
The story is about Galavant, a dashing hero, dragon slayer, protector of the innocent and defender of the less fortunate who will be played by Joshua Sasse who lost the love of his life, Madalena played by Mallory Jansen to the evil king Richard played by Timothy Omundson. On the day of Richard and Madalena’s wedding, Galavant tried everything to get to the castle and rescue his love. When he got there, he was surprised when Madalena told her that she is choosing fame, fortune and the crown over Galavant. Now, Galavant is on a quest for revenge, to take back what was once his and live a happily ever after. However, our hero will have a few twists and turns on his way to a beautiful life with his love.
Other cast members of “Galavant” include Vinnie Jones as Gareth, Luke Youngblood as Sid and Karen David as Isabella.
As of now, there is no official date for “Galavant’s” premiere on television but once we have it, we will make sure to deliver the news to you right away. What do you think of this show?
