Actress Sienna Miller seriously feels that Hollywood is unequal as far as the gender of it actors are concerned. Here is the complete story for you.
The actress of the movie “Burnt” fails to understand why everything is not properly balanced with men getting all the brownie points in the industry. However, Sienna Miller feels blessed that she has had the opportunity to do some real ‘interesting’ work.
However, she says with conviction that there is inequality in the Hollywood film industry.
Sienna Miller said that whether it is the subject of paychecks, role quality, and roles, Hollywood is extremely imbalanced and it does not make sense to her why it is so.
She feels though that presently she is lucky enough to work with some of those directors who are fond of women. This in turn means that she gets some interesting roles, even while they are small in terms of their length in these movies.
Miller, 33, is not the sole actress who spoke up on this issue of inequality that is supposed to exist in Hollywood.
Even Emma Watson spoke on similar lines some time back. She said that she feels that sexism is quite prevalent in Hollywood and claimed that she had been treated differently from several of her male colleagues.
Watson told the LOOK magazine that she has experienced sexism several times in her acting career where she was directed only twice by female directors and 17 times by her male directors. Out of her producers, there has been only 1 female and 13 male. But she has been fortunate.
She has always made it a point to get an equal treatment and has usually got that. However, most of her problems had been with the media that treated her so differently from her male co-actors.
On the other hand, Jennifer Lawrence has penned an essay recently where she wrote that it shocked her when she got to know that she and Amy Adams, her co-star in the movie “American Hustle”, were paid much less than their male co-stars like Jeremy Renner, Bradley Cooper, and Christian Bale. Lawrence thought that she had to be blamed for that as she had been a failure in terms of negotiating her payment.
