Adele is proof that habits are hard to break but nothing is impossible when someone is really decided on a certain goal. The “Hello” hit maker used to consume 25 sticks a day but she was able to kick the dependency.
Mail Online reports that the singer shared she dreaded that the bad habit would eventually lead to her dying early. “It’s something I wouldn’t be proud of”, she said.
The singer has been more health conscious since her re-emergence into the limelight. The 27-year-old admits to her different and healthier regime. She has stopped smoking, as she was afraid it would kill her.
According to The Mirror, the idea of dying from a smoking-related illness was enough for the songstress to abandon her 25-a-day problem.
“If I’d carried on smoking I’d probably have died from a smoking-related illness and I think that’s really bad. If I was dying from lung cancer I would have potentially given it to myself.” Adele said.
It could also be recalled that the British singer completely lost her voice back in 2011 and she had to cancel shows and undergo surgery. She was ordered by doctors to stop the habit or else, she could possibly lose her career. She also had a £295 session with Susan Hepburn, Harley Street hypnotist in an effort to assist her quit.
A source disclosed, that the singer has attempted to quit, “but the cravings kept getting the better of her”. As she wishes to go back to the studio and record, she has mentioned in the past that she would have continued with her habit “if she wasn’t a singer” and because it’s her favorite thing to do.
Alongside chucking her cigarette routine, she has been visiting the gym and has started on a healthier lifestyle, also keeping in mind that she wants to be around longer for her 3-year-old son Angelo.
