Hello Los Angeles! Hello Disneyland! Agent Carter is now here to stay! You heard that right. Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) joins all the baby boomers of the Southwest, as Season 2 of “Agent Carter” will now reside in the “City of Angels” according to Collider.
It’s still the post-war era and Carter has left the numbing inner cities of New York for Tinseltown which conceals its harsh reality in a well-perfumed glitz and glamour. The Strategic Scientific Reserve agent will come to an understanding that this suffocating milieu of Hollywood may pose as a larger threat than the “real assignment” that she is tasked to undertake. Check the video as the super-spy continues to rebel on the prescribed norms in her workplace, strikes down bad guys and contemplates on a promising romance (with an eccentric genius named Jason Wilkes).
Variety reports that the Captain America-inspired television series, in its second outing, will bulked-up its casting with new series regulars: Kurtwood Smith (That ‘70s Show) portraying an old-timer from the War Department named Vernon Masters; Actress Wynn Everett (The Newsroom) will portray an actress/inventor named Whitney Frost who will be the season’s main antagonist; Currie Graham (Pompeii) will portray Frost’s better-half Calvin Chadwick, a highly influential entrepreneur; Lotte Verbeek (The Fault In Our Stars) will portray Ana Jarvis. Ken Marino (Wet Hot American Summer) was also added as the secondary villain playing a crime lord Joseph Manfredi.
ABC Studios, Marvel Television, and F&B Fazekas & Butters are the producers of the series which was created by Tara Butters, Michele Fazekas, and Chris Dingess.
The inaugural episode for the second season will commence with a two-hour airing on Tuesday Jan. 5 at 9pm on ABC. Overall, 10 episodes are to be broadcast until March 1, 2016 to fill the void left by Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” as it is on a mid-season hiatus.
