The dawn of the age of superhero movies has not only led to a boom in superhero movies but to television shows as well. Last television season saw the beginning of the spin-off “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” which primarily focused on Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the work they do for S.H.I.E.L.D. During the show’s winter hiatus, there will be a new Marvelverse show to keep fans and viewers occupied, as “Agent Carter” will air during that time. Aside from Hayley Atwell and Dominic Cooper, who were both featured in the first “Captain America” film, TV Line has just reported that two new cast members have been added to the roster. Read on to learn more about this story.
According to TV Line, actors Chad Michael Murray and Enver Gjokaj have just been added to the cast of the eight-episode series.
Chad Michael Murray is an actor best known for his work in teen comedies and dramas, both on the big and small screens. On film, he is best known for his roles in “Freaky Friday” (2003) and “A Cinderella Story” (2004). On television, his credits include “Gilmore Girls” (2000 to 2001), “Dawson’s Creek” (2001 to 2002), and “One Tree Hill” (2003 to 2012).
Enver Gjokaj, on the other hand, is best known for his work in Joss Whedon’s cult hit “Dollhouse,” in which he acted alongside Eliza Dushku.
Murray is set to portray Strategic Scientific Reserve Agent Jack Thompson, while Gjokaj will be portraying the role of Strategic Scientific Reserve Agent Daniel Sousa, whom Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) will meet while working for the organization. Both actors are series regulars.
“Agent Carter,” according to Variety, follows British MI6 Agent Peggy Carter, who has to learn how to balance office work while moonlighting covertly on missions with Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper). The series is set after the events of World War II and after Captain America was thought to be dead in an airplane explosion. The show is set to be eight episodes long, but it promises to be intense and action packed.
