Alien: Covenant director Scott Ridley has been in the movie industry for so long. At 79, he knows the ins and outs and what’s and how’s of the business. He also knows the reasons why movie enthusiasts turn their backs on some films. He said that overexposure to violence is what scares people away at present.

The director who has been making Martians films for a decade and a half is indeed right. There is so much violence in real life and people do not have to go to the theaters to watch fiction and violence-laden films. All they need are films that make them feel good.

The veteran director mentioned the movie Saw 14 which is fused with so much violence and bloodshed. The film makes one unfeeling to inhuman behavior and brutality. According to Scott, movie like Saw 14 when watched by a pre-schooler will find it boring because they are used to seeing blood and cruelty on screen.

But before his Alien era, he watched The Exorcist, Omen, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre and he got the idea to do better if he makes his own film. He was 40 when he first helmed a movie.

Ridley Scott Still Has Ambitions For Alien Franchise

During an SXSW roundtable discussion, Ridley Scott talked about his film which is a true-to-form movie. According to Movie Web, Scott loves to do more about the Alien franchise but he is only wishful thinking because at 79, he can only do a handful. However, the man who directed Exodus: Gods and Kings is an epitome of strength and enthusiasm. He seems not to get tired of making movies much more, his mind functions like he is in his 20s.

Scott still talks about his ambition for Alien and wants to go on working for it. He does not want his age to hinder his productivity.

Katherine Waterston, one of the casts of Alien: Covenant tells an incident when Scott sprained his wrist while on the set of their movie. After 30 minutes, he was back working again. Waterston even said that the director is an AI.

The stars of the movie noticed how intelligent Ridley Scott is. They are Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, James Franco, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup and Benjamin Rigby. Stars joining the team are Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Jussie Smollett, Nathaniel Dean, Callie Hernandez and Alexander England. Alien: Covenant will be released on May 19.
