Known for making movies that are rather dark, but yet keep the viewers firmly seated in their seats, director Tim Burton is all set to make another movie. And now as he finishes gathering up his cast members, he brings along Allison Janney for the film.

Variety reports that Allison Janney is now on board for Tim Burton’s novel-based movie ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’, in partnership with 20th Century Fox, despite the fact that the movie has been under production for quite some time now. The movie is produced by Chernin Entertainment and has Jane Goldman as scriptwriter.

The movie is based on Ransom Riggs’ novel of the same name. The story revolves around a 16-year old boy named Jacob who goes to the ruins of an ancestral home in a remote island in Wales, as his grandfather had advised him to do so just before he passed away. As it turned out, the house was actually an orphanage housing children with special abilities which his grandfather once said was already destroyed. However, the orphanage is still very much running, but its young residents are in danger. And it is up to Jacob to help them.

Janney will be playing as Jacob’s psychiatrist in the story. Other members of the cast include Asa Butterfield as Jacob and Eva Green as the orphanage’s keeper Miss Peregrine. Ella Purnell plays Emma, one of the orphanage’s ‘peculiar’ residents and has the ability to control fire. Samuel L. Jackson is also on board to play the mysterious Baron.

Aside from doing the movie, Janney is also in the CBS sitcom ‘Mom’ with Anna Faris. Other movies she is involved with are in the ‘Despicable Me’ spin-off ‘Minions’ which will be released on June 26, and ‘Spy’ which will be released on June 5 and also stars Jason Statham  and Melissa McCarthy. Janney is represented by Thruline, Gersh and Nelson Davis LLP.

‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’ will be released in US theaters on March 4, 2016.
