With The Amazing Spider Man 2 still several months away from hitting the theaters, you’d think Sony would hold-off on having another sequel penned. Well, if the confirmation of a script being written for a third movie is anything to go by, Sony is positive that the 2nd quarter of 2014 release of the ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ sequel will be a commercial success – even though it shares the release month with Joss Whedon’s ‘Avengers 2: Age of Ultron’.
Sony itself is all set for making four movies based on ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ universe. The trio; who took over James Vanderbilt’s early draft for a sequel to his Spidey script, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinker and Alex Kurzman, have signed a contract to write the script for the third movie in the series as well.
The new writing team does have a number of commercial successes attached with their names, but they’re not the most popular bunch amongst die-hard fans because of having strayed from the roots of certain beloved franchises in their previous works.
While ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ has had changes in the script-writing department, the rest of the crew remains near identical to the one in the first movie by Marc Webb, who retains his place at the helm.
If the rest of the team is to stay the same, they’ll find some solace in the fact that there won’t be another change in screenwriting team when the third movie goes into development and it will definitely help Marc Webb achieve whatever it is he’s aiming for with his take on Spider-Man.
‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ will release next year on the 2nd of May. Are you excited about another sequel to Mark Webb’s Spidey and Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker? Let us know in the comments below.
