The anthology horror series “American Horror Story” has become one of the most popular shows that is trending high with Emmy season coming ahead. Denis O’Hare is one name that needs a special mention that is making an appearance in the series with various characters in several seasons. He will be seen in the upcoming Season 6 with another interesting character that will completely surprise his fans.
O’Hare was last seen in “American Horror Story: Hotel” Season 5 as Liz Taylor. It is said that he was initially very hesitant about playing the role as he got a bit scared after learning about the character. But later, his character Liz Taylor undoubtedly became one of the most memorable characters in the series.
In an interview with Yahoo!, Denis O’Hare stated that Executive Producer Ryan Murphy has a wonderful quality of character visualization and setting up of the role. He further mentioned that Murphy described the character of Liz Taylor as a transgender woman who has bold appearance and was actually inspired by a drag queen of the 70s who died in a fire at a German discotheque in “American Horror Story.”
54-year-old O’Hare became a bit scared and nervous as he never played a role of a transgender or never wore a dress and heels. But later, it turned out to be one of the best roles of his career, which made him earn more respect as a performer.
O’Hare is one of the top contenders in the nominee list of the upcoming Emmy Award as he is eligible for the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie, as mentioned by Enstarz. He will be returning for Season 6 of the anthology along with Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Leslie Jordan and Matt Bomer. So far, nothing has been revealed about the theme of the upcoming season.
