American Horror Story Season 7 is going to tackle the real American horror story that is the current political climate. Aside from that, however, there is not much known about the next installment of the popular anthology. Recently, Ryan Murphy teased what is coming to television screens later this year.
Red, White, and Blue
The specifics about the politically-themed new season are kept under wraps. One thing, however, was made clear by the legendary screenwriter himself: it will be about the nightmarish Election Night that took place in the U.S. last November.
The cast is already fighting over who will play the role of Donald Trump. Both Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson have expressed the desire to portray the current president of the most powerful country in the world in a horror story.
However, it looks like Peters will not have the honor of playing the role of the commander-in-chief. On Instagram, Murphy previewed the young actor’s new hair color to tease what is coming to American Horror Story.
“AHS Season 7: Red, white and blue clue,” the caption read. Peters have his back to the camera to show off his new hair color.
How his hair color will figure into the story remains to be seen. He is not the only one to change looks in time for Season 7.
Star Wars and Scream Queens actor Billie Lourd also dyed her hair a quirky new color this week. And like a prophecy being fulfilled, Carrie Fisher’s daughter is now sporting white hair.
She captioned the photo “#winteriscoming” and tagged Murphy which means that her hair transformation was made for the show.
Whoever is sporting a fiery red mane will likely be revealed in the next few days.
Hopefully, this would mean that Peters will have a bigger role in the upcoming season. While he was involved in last year’s Roanoke, he appeared rather briefly much to the disappointment of his fans.
In Season 6, Evans played the role of a young, emerging actor named Rory. After two episodes, his character was killed by ghost nuns that haunt the North Carolina home.
American Horror Story Season 7 What Is Known So Far
Season 7 has already started filming. Series regular Angela Bassett mentioned in a previous interview that production will start in a few weeks (she also talked about her involvement in the upcoming season here.)
Both Peters and Paulson have confirmed that they will return to star in the seventh installment of the popular horror anthology. Joining the cast are newcomers Billy Eichner (Billy on the Street) and Leslie Grossman (Nip/Tuck). Just Jared also spotted Adina Porter on the set this week. The rest of the cast are yet to be divulged, but fans will likely hear about who will return and who will not in the next few weeks as the team convene to start filming.
In true American Horror Story fashion, however, the cast and the crew are not permitted to divulge details to the press. But Murphy himself have provided a few details to excite the fans.
In a previous interview, he admitted that American Horror Story Season 7 will indeed feature Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. No actor will be cast to play the role. They will appear in the first ten minutes of the season on a television screen (on everyone’s television screens).
“The first 10 minutes of the season, this season, takes place in a very eerie macabre way on election night and there’s something terrible that happens in the lives of our characters on election night as they’re watching it all go down,” he said via CinemaBlend. “Which in itself was a horror story, so it’s like a horror story upon a horror story.”
FX is yet to announce an exact premiere date, but American Horror Story Season 7 is expected to arrive by fall.
