Read on to learn more about this episode.
The episode began with Aslam (Omar Ghazaoui) getting shot and getting kicked off the pick-up truck that carried Sergeant Odelle Ballard (Anna Friel). It was after he pretended to be sick in order to get the flash drive that was on the truck floor.
In Lower Manhattan, Ron Ballard (Jim True-Frost) picked up his daughter, Suzanne Ballard (Sadie Sink). He promised that they would stay in the city for the day if she promised to do something special with him the next day. She wanted to stay as Harrison Walters (Jake Robinson) and his group claimed that Odelle was alive.
Meanwhile, after Harrison was gotten off the hook with just a fine, by his father’s lawyer, he paid Bob Offer (Nate Mooney) a visit. There, he was told that the email did exist and that he had been scared of Harrison as his father, Randall Walters (Boyd Gaines) was a good friend of Colonel Stephen Glen (Treat Williams), who claimed that Odelle was dead.
In Timbuktu, Frank Majors (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) discovered that Odelle was in Bamako.
At Bamako, in an Ansar Dine safe house, Omar (Dar Salim) stopped his friend, Hamid (Mansour Badri) from killing Odelle right away so that he could interrogate her. At first, she refused to talk, but after showing her via several newspapers that the American Government had betrayed them and claimed that they were dead, she told him that the Al Quaeda had been paid by a huge American firm, but she didn’t have tangible proof at the moment as the flash drive was with Aslam.
Aslam, in the meantime, managed to get onto a wandering camel, and ended up spilling several tons of cocaine, which the camels were carrying. He was then taken in by a local drug lord who removed his bullet and allowed him to hitch a ride to Bamako with the condition that they would look at the contents of the drive together. However, along the way, they were stopped by the Ansar Dine at a checkpoint, as they were looking for Aslam. However, he had managed to escape and took the drive with him.
Back in New York, Peter Deckehr (Peter Facinelli) met up with a reluctant Janine Gentry (Theresho Plaehn). He later on agreed to give Peter the confidentiality agreement that Societelle had told her to sign so that she would be able to gain half a million dollars which would greatly help her daughter in terms of medical expenses. She also sent over her husband’s journal. It contained emails and flight details regarding all of his missions, which he also had sent over to Annette Dixon, as he could trust her with this information.
Later that day, Randall agreed to help out his son and decided to meet up with Glen. He became angry at Harrison’s questions and denied that Odelle was still alive. This caused Randall to believe his son and contacted a friend of his, a source, that told him that this entire thing goes way high up.
Later that night, while Peter was driving home with his daughter, the man who had been following him smashed open his window, and took the Gentry journal away from him. Because of this, he decided to resign from his job.
The next day, Randall was with his mistress in a hotel room. They were both shot dead by an assassin who was none other than Ruby Simms (Daneilla Pineda).
At the park, Suzanne ran into Harrison, who told her that he believed that Odelle was still alive.
Meanwhile, Peter confronted Joe Abrams (Darren Goldstein), as he was the only other one who knew about the Gentry journal. Then, he met up with Sofia Tsaldari (Orla Brady), who gave him a copy of the wore transfer that Societelle had made to Abdul Abbas of the Al Quaeda.
At Bamako, Aslam got the shock of his life as he discovered that his uncle was now a celebrity and a transvestite.
Meanwhile, Odelle’s interrogator killed Hamid, who was going to kill Odelle. He filmed a video clip in which Odelle announced that she was still alive. However, instead of going to Al Jazeera, Omar’s messenger, without Omar knowing, gave the video to Frank.
