Meanwhile, Ron Ballard (Jim True-Frost), upon discovering something on his wife’s wedding band, discovered that Odelle might be alive after all. Read on to learn more about this episode.
The episode picked up from where it left off with Luc Girard (Gregory Fitoussi) blaming Sergeant Odelle Ballard (Anna Friel) for his girlfriend’s death by the hands of Frank Majors (Adeweale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), who was from Osela. He then decided to call up Odelle’s house, where no one picked up. As it was becoming too dangerous to stay at Shakir Khan’s (Yousef Sweid), Odelle decided to leave.
Meanwhile, in New Jersey, at the SOC data center, Peter Decker (Peter Facinelli), Jenji (John Sharian) and Rhys (Eli Gelb), their hacker, entered the building where Rhys helped Peter get the information he needed onto a USB device. Jenji then hacked off the security camera that Rhys wasn’t able to disable, and told Peter to go out to the woods, where he was confronted by one of SOC’s goons, who led him back inside at gunpoint, but was later beaten to death by Jenji.
Back in New York, Bob Offer (Nate Mooney) and Harrison Walters (Jake Robinson) talked to Yusuf Qasim (Anthony Azizi) who told them to ask David Tenant of GBR Industries about Senator Thomas Darnell (Reed Birney) regarding Black Sands.
Back at Bamako, Odelle made a tape for Shakir to give the New York Times reporter (Banka Katic), as she and Aslam would go to the outskirts of the desert, where Luc was. Later, Aslam explained to Odelle that since Luc was a smuggler, he would know enough routes to smuggle Odelle into Europe. Meanwhile, Shakir tried to call General Diallo (Itoya Osagiede), who refused to talk to him.
As soon as Odelle left, the reporter, tailed by Frank, arrived. As Shakir went to get the tape, he was cornered and beat up by Frank, who discovered through torture where Odelle was headed.
However, Luc refused to help them out, as death seemed to follow Odelle wherever she went. Aslam then told her that he would guide her across the desert to the coast, then they would decide what to do next, and what he would do.
Meanwhile, Peter wondered what he should do next as his daughter blamed him for her boyfriend getting attacked, and became nervous after some detectives came over to ask about the goon that Jenji had murdered. However, Peter couldn’t help but wonder why SOC, who had dumped the goon’s body in Brooklyn, when he had been killed in New Jersey, and wondered why he hadn’t been arrested yet. After talking to Sofia Tsaldari (Orla Brady), Peter wheeled in the trash bins sitting on the curb so that he could retrieve the USB, as he had hidden it inside there.
Meanwhile, Ron Ballard (Jim True-Frost) told Lucy (Kristen Bush) and Suzanne Ballard (Sadie Sink), that he was starting to believe that Odelle was still alive as the date on Odelle’s wedding band was different from what it was before. Suzanne then messaged Harrison about it, then after dialing her mother’s phone number, told whoever was listening that they had made a very big mistake.
Harrison then went to see Tenant, who told him that Thomas Darnell had been the CEO of GBR when Black Sands was happening. Tenant then told Harrison to tell Yusuf that it was a “Leader of leaders” who had killed him.
After translating the name given to them, they discovered that Abdul Abbass had betrayed Qasim. However, when they went over to talk to Qasim again, they discovered that Anna Stone (Tala Ashe) had tipped Homeland Security about Qasim, which led to Harrison’s arrest.
