Amitabh Bachchan Lost 75 Percent of His Liver to Hepatitis B

Amitabh Bachchan, a name which is not only famous among the Indian audience but also across the globe, become the star of the millennium with all of his hard work but nobody was aware of the condition of his health till the time he himself made a statement publicly and informed that only 25 percent of his liver is currently functioning. Yes, this shocking statement was made by Big Bachchan during the launch of a media campaign on Hepatitis.  The star revealed that due to the deadly virus, 75 percent of his liver was damaged and now only 25 percent is left and he is standing with this left portion only. The star also revealed that a person can survive on 12 percent of liver too but that will be a completely different and critical.

The megastar shared about how he was infected with the deadly virus and stated that Hepatitis B came to him accidentally as after his accident on the sets of Coolie, he was infused with about 200 donors blood; 60 bottles of blood were injected into his system. Only three months ago, the Australian antigen Hepatitis B was detected, which means one of the blood donors during that time was carrying Hepatitis B virus which went into his system.

Mr. Bachchan also revealed about his faith on Indian doctors by sharing that when he consulted with some medical professionals outside India for second opinion on his condition, their prescriptions and the medicines prescribed by Indian doctors were similar. The superstar praised the efforts of all the medical professionals for treating TB and Hepatitis B patients and also the workers who go to rustic lands to deliver doses of vaccine to people living far away from the facilities available in cities.
