The popular point and click survival video game, “Five Nights at Freddy’s” is going to have its own book. The Indie games creator, Scott Cawthon is writing a novel based on the game.
Readers will recall that the game centers around a fictional restaurant called Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The player is supposed to protect himself from malfunctioning animatronic characters who are running rampant on the scene. The player must spot them via the security cameras and avoid them.
The game has been released via Microsoft Windows, Android, and iOS platforms and is very popular among the gamers who play games on their phones and tablets. Three sequels to the original game have been released. All of these games have been big hits with the gaming crowd.
The creator of the game, Scott Cawthon recently revealed that he was going to release a companion novel to the game called “Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Untold Story.” He revealed that he has been working with a professional writer to craft the story for the novel.
“This is not something recent; I’ve been working alongside a professional writer for the last ten months crafting this story,” Cawthon told the fans via Steam forum. He added that he was very excited about the product because it added to the mythos and the human element of the game that he hadn’t expanded upon in the game series.
PC Gamer reports that the book might be released on December 22, via the Amazon Kindle portal. Scott Cawthon also revealed that the title of the book might change significantly; the official title will be released in the coming weeks.
Kotaku reports that a hardback edition might also be issued next year. PC gamer also reported that there is a movie in the making for the game. A new role playing game is also due next year.
