Car accidents among celebrities seem to be on a rise lately. Just recently, one such incident involved retired football star David Beckham, who was riding with his son. Now, another car accident happened, this time involving Hollywood star Angelina Jolie who got herself in the middle of a tire-exploding car crash on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014. Read on for further details.
Prior to the accident, Jolie was attending a screening at the Writers’ Guild Theater in Beverly Hills of the movie “Unbroken,” which she directed. Dressed in a cream-colored coat, Jolie walked on the red carpet in her usual regal gait.
After the screening, Jolie got in a black SUV and was just about to go home when the accident occurred. Eyewitnesses saw that the car “took off rather quickly” then later skidded on the wet road. Upon hitting on a curb with “extreme force,” the SUV’s front tires both exploded on impact.
“The car slammed into the curb at a significant speed. Angelina must have wondered if they hit another car. It was pretty bad — the tire exploded, and it's amazing nothing worse happened to the car. I wouldn't be surprised if she has whiplash,” an eyewitness said, as published on Hollywood Life.
The actress appeared to be shaken up by the accident, but nonetheless, she was physically unharmed. According to Daily Mail, she was shortly picked up by another driver and went home via a second hired car. As of the moment, Jolie has not made any statements regarding the car accident. However, it was noted that her regular bodyguard was not with her during the said incident.
On another note, Jolie’s latest movie “Unbroken” will be onscreen on Dec. 25, 2014. The movie was based on the 2010 nonfiction book “Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption” written by Laura Hillenbrand. The story tells of the life of Olympic athlete Louis Zamperini, who was starred in the movie by Jack O'Connell.
