The power couple of Hollywood was highly emotional as they discussed how difficult it was for Angelina Jolie to go for a double mastectomy on a recent show.
Brad Pitt and his better half Angelina Jolie spoke to Tom Brokawa on the latter’s “Today Show”, where they spoke about their latest film “By the Sea” and also how their life was after marriage.
Jolie and Pitt were quite emotional on Monday as they discussed about Angelina’s decision to get a double mastectomy. In the process, she got her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed; something the actress did just for the sake of their children.
Pitt was full of praises for the courage shown by his gorgeous wife to prevent the deadly cancer. Brad said that he was in France when Jolie called him up. He immediately took a return flight to be with his dear wife.
He would have felt horrible, had he been unable to stay beside his wife’s side in her most difficult times. This was when Jolie learned that there was a risk of her developing cancer in her ovaries.
Pitt also said on the same show that it was a mature decision taken by his wife. Jolie did all these just for the sake of their family, so that they could all be together.
In 2013, Jolie had to undergo a double mastectomy, as there was a gene test that inferred that the actress had a high chance of getting breast cancer.
The most important fact that came out from the interview was that the couple is deeply in love with each other and their marriage is going strong and stable despite rumors.
Incidentally, Jolie’s mother also passed away from cancer in the year 2007. Apparently, she had told the doctor before she passed away to take out her daughter’s ovaries so that Angie does not suffer a similar fate. The same doctor who attended to Jolie’s mother did her ovary surgery.
We just pray that this wonderful couple have many more years of togetherness.
