Anil Kapoor has accepted a role in Mission: Impossible 4 and is likely to be joining the cast of the movie shortly. The movie, that is already in production in Europe, will be Kapoor’s first appearance in a major Hollywood project.
Kapoor, who is among India’s greatest actors with a career lasting over 2 decades, is expected to join the cast as soon as negotiations are finished up. Information on Kapoor’s part in the film continue to be a secret.
Kapoor recently appeared in the final season of the US hit 24, but is most famous for his role in Slumdog Millionaire.
In other MI: 4 news, French actress Lea Seydoux (Inglourious Basterds) has been tapped to play a female villain in the forthcoming Mission: Impossible 4. The role pits Seydoux against Tom Cruise’s super agent Ethan Hunt in the fourth installment of the M: I franchise.
Seydoux will work with actor Michael Nyqvist as a lead villain in the movie dealing with Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and his team of top agents. Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg come back to the cast alongside Cruise, with Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Vladimir Mashkov supplying fresh faces to the franchise.
Production settings have been scouted for the film in Vancouver, Prague, and Dubai with makers targeting a December 2011 launch.
