Annabelle 2 Titled As Creation: Storyline Reveals Origination Of Possessed Demonic Doll

Annabelle 2, the supernatural horror film has been officially titled as Creation. This film is the sequel to 2014’s blockbuster film Annabelle. The title of the film was unveiled shortly before the appearance of Warner Bros.’ team at CinemaCon recently. The film belongs to The Conjuring franchise which is known for its creepy and scary stories and their execution on big screen.

Annabelle 2 Storyline

Annabelle 2 beings with the introduction of a couple that earns by doll making. The dollmaker and his wife are living alone since years after the death of their daughter. She died 20 years back and nothing much is known about her. However, the couple decided to open their house for a nun and some girls from an orphanage which gets shut down. Furthermore, the possessed creation aka Annabelle sets her sights on the girls who have literally got into a huge trouble. (Via The Hollywood Reporter)

The character of Annabelle was first mentioned in the debut of The Conjuring series. Supernatural investigators Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga who played the role of Ed and Lorraine Warren handle the case of a woman who believes that her doll is possessed. Though, the investigators take the doll away with them thinking that it isn’t going to harm them.

The detailed story then begins with the first spin-off film Annabelle and its haunting past. It is then revealed that the doll is responsible for several murders. But, she is again inherited by a young couple who faces awful situations later.

Creative Team & Cast Members

The upcoming horror film is directed by Lights Out fame David F. Sandberg. He was appreciated for this film and even received critical acclaim. The changed his life in all the aspects as he was going through a financial crunch at that time. He began his career as a freelance animator and then started making documentaries before coming into mainstream films.

Other cast members of the film include Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Philippa Coulthard, Grace Fulton and Miranda Otto in important roles. The film also includes Richard Brener, Toby Emmerich, Walter Hamada, Hans Ritter and Dave Neustadter as executive producers. The film score is composed by Benjamin Wallfisch. The sequel was announced long back and it began developing in October 2015. The film has been shot mostly in Los Angeles, California and Warner Bros. Studios.

Exclusive Spoilers

Director Sandberg revealed a scene of the film at SXSW Conference and Festivals in Austin. The scenes describe how the demonic soul of the dollmakers daughter is wandering in-house and is troubling young Janice (Talitha Bateman). Janice unknowingly walks in into the room of the dead girl and spots Annabelle. Another girl (Lulu Wilson) follows her in the room and they argue about moving out for there. But before they decide on making an exit or not, the demonic soul begins Annabelle’s face turning to them suddenly. In addition to this, there is another creepy scene in which Janice has been attacked again in the barn. The same girl attacks her and vomits black goo into her mouth.

The most interesting fact about the film is that so far nothing is mentioned about its timeline. But is seems that the film is a prequel which will describe the history and origination of the doll.

Release Date

Annabelle 2 was originally scheduled to be released on May 19, 2017. However, Warner Brothers decided to push the dates ahead to August 15, 2016. It was done in order to avoid the clash with sci-fi horror film Alien: Covenant. Stay tuned to find more updates and latest information on the same.
