It’s a dream come true! “Deadpool,” “Gambit” and “X-Men” crossover will definitely happen! Read on for more details.
Fans should get ready from this day forward as another mind blowing crossover may happen in the near future, and it was already confirmed by none other than Simon Kinberg! It will surely be a worth watching movie as three of the most anticipated film nowadays are set to be in one world!
In the last Toronto International Film Festival, the writer and producer told MTV News the his two new and upcoming films, “Deadpool” and “Gambit” would have connection with the post “Days of Future Past” X-Men universe. Not only that, Kinberg revealed that he is also planning to “cross-pollinate” characters from the various films.
According to Kinberg, they sort of reset the timeline after “Days of Future Past” in some ways and the “Gambit” and “Deadpool” movie will exist in the world that acknowledges whatever happened in “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” but it doesn’t mean that the characters from the three movies will interact all the time.
“The idea is that we’ve sort of reset the timeline after ’Days of Future Past’ in some ways, and if not erased, certainly allowed for change from ’X1,’ ’2,’ ’3,’ everything from ’Days of Future Past’ forward, 1973, everything we set now becomes canon. So the ’Gambit’ movie, the ’Deadpool’ movie, will exist in a world that acknowledges whatever happened in ’Days of Future Past’ and moving forward. Doesn’t mean they’ll always interact with those characters, obviously, it’s not like every movie has all the characters, but they all have to exist within the same rules.”—MTV News
Moreover, Kinberg admitted that he cannot keep every characters in the movie if he won’t use a chart that he attentively updates constantly where he can see the characters, when they will appear—or where everyone is in the movie.
Adding on, the producer revealed that the chart he’s keeping is on his computer and on his mind before jokingly saying that if ever he gets knocked up over the head, no one can read it.
“It’s literally behind my eyelids. But yeah, we have a clear sense of the directions we want to take them in and in my mind at least, how we could start to cross-pollinate sort of with those characters that have their standalone movies.”—MTV News
On the other hand, according to Collider, Kinberg also notes the new look of the character in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” He said that it has been rightfully been met with a great deal of derision.
“We felt like the movies were ready for something that was slightly more, let’s say, cosmic. Once we made the decision for Apocalypse to be the villain at the center of the movie, we wanted to be true to the comics, which are sort of, like you, say, not costume, but it’s not just a guy in a helmet. It is more cosmic.”—MTV News
