Hollywood actress Evangeline Lily, who is set to star in Marvel’s upcoming “Ant-Man,” sports a new hair-do reminiscent of Marvel size-shifting super heroine, Janet Van Dyne or The Wasp. For more details on this story, read on.
According to Comic Vine, Lily shared to the world a couple of pics flaunting her new hairdo on her Instagram account. For those who are not familiar of Janet van Dyne, she is popularly known as the Wasp, the crime-fighting and life partner of Ant-Man, Hank Pym. She exhibits similar size-altering powers, fly and fire bioelectric energy called “stings.” Wasp is originally the first female member of the “Avengers” and one of the founding members of the group. She is also credited for naming the team.
Earlier, Lily was revealed to play the part of Hope Van Dyne during a panel at the recent San Diego Comic-Con. Hope Van Dyne, is an original character and is the daughter of Hank Pym, which is played by Michael Douglas. We also get to see a shot of Lily and Paul Rudd, who will play Scott Lang or the titular Ant-man, together.
Marvel’s “Ant-Man” is an upcoming superhero film based on the comic book characters of the same name, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. “Ant-Man” is part of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) Phase Three project that will expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe along with “Captain America 3”, “Doctor Strange” and “Guardians of the Galaxy 2.”
It stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang the titular the size shifting con man turned hero Antman, Michael Douglas as Henry Pym, scientist credited for the discovery of Pym particles, which enables size alteration and Evangeline Lilly and Corey Stoll who will play Hope Van Dyne and central villain, Darren Cross or Yellow Jacket respectively.
Recently, “Mad Men” actor John Slattery, who previously played the role of Howard Stark, Tony Stark’s father in “Iron Man 2” joined the cast along with Judy Greer, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Abby Ryder Fortson, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, Gregg Turkington and rapper-actor T.I.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will produce the film along with Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee as executive producers. “Ant-Man” is directed by Peyton Reed, known for his works including “Bring It On”, “Down with Love”, and “The Break-Up”. It will hit the big screens in July 17, 2015.
