Depp, 51, and Heard, 28, met on the set of “Rum Diary” and have been engaged since March 2014. Since the engagement, rumors about the couple’s wedding have been reported though not confirmed. Despite the reports about their split, a source confirmed to E! News that the two will exchange “I dos” this weekend. People also confirmed the news.
The wedding will be Depp’s second marriage as he has already been betrothed in 1983 to Lori Anne Allison, until their divorce in 1985. Following his love affair with British model Kate Moss, he began a relationship with Vanessa Paradis, a French actress and singer while filming “The Ninth Gate” in 1998 and separated in 2012. Depp and Paradis had two children, Lily-Rose and Jack. Heard, on the other hand, will be married for the first time. She came out as a bisexual in 2010 and once dated photographer Tasya van Ree before dating Depp in 2012.
The much-anticipated private island wedding will take place according in Little Hall’s Pond Cay, a 45-acre island in the Bahamas acquired by Depp in 2004. The island also has beaches named after his children. According to People, one was named Paradis Beach, after Depp’s ex-partner. Check out snapshots of the island here.
A source told Page Six that around 50 guests will attend the wedding including Depp’s children and Heard’s family. Celebrities Mandy Moore, Marilyn Manson, Steven Tyler and Jerry Bruckheimer who attended the couple’s engagement party in 2014 have not confirmed attendance to the wedding yet. It was also reported that the guests may have to stay at Depp’s 156-feett yacht, Vajoliroja, because of the sparse accommodations. The bride is rumored to have chosen English fashion designer Stella McCartney to design her wedding gown.
The couple has chosen Feb. 7 or 8, 2015 as their wedding day since it’s the only time they could get together, as reported Page Six. Heard will be filming a new movie in London while Depp will be going to Australia to film “Pirates of the Caribbean 5.”
