‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader’ Visits Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Tonight Show’ [WATCH]

Jimmy Fallon and Pitbull felt like fifth-graders again when Jeff Foxworthy visited the May 20th episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” to play some rounds of “Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader.” Read on for details.

After showing some childhood photos, Fallon and Pitbull finally settled behind their respective booths. Foxworthy called out two of the new fifth-graders from the original show. Tres would play with Fallon while Angela was with Pitbull. Then, Foxworthy explained the mechanics which are still similar to FOX’s hit game show.

Jimmy chose “4th Grade Grammar” for the first question. He was asked what part of speech is “very” in the sentence, “Questlove is a very good drummer.” He decided to answer it himself and said, “Adjective.” Tres gave him a funny look, so Fallon had no choice but to let the kid help him. Thanks to Tres, Fallon correctly answered “adverb” for four points.

On the other hand, Pitbull got a moment of confusion on what category to choose. Angela first chose “5th Grade Chemistry,” which elicited laughter from everybody. She changed it into “2nd Grade Astronomy,” but Pitbull still looked worried. Pitbull voiced out his frustrations.

“You’re the adult here,” Foxworthy told Pitbull.

Pitbull finally chose astronomy. The question was “In our solar system, which planet is farthest from the sun?” With no hesitations, Pitbull asked Angela for the answer. Before answering the question, Mr. Worldwide gave a brief trivia about Pharrell’s production duo. Then, he rhetorically asked Foxworthy if he knows the “Happy” singer. He immediately answered “Neptune.”

The scoreboard showed that Jimmy had four points while Pitbull got two. For the final round, a 6th Grade question was presented worth 10 points. Fallon and Pitbull were asked if how far is earth from the sun in miles. Fallon and Tres answered 20,000 miles. Meanwhile, Pitbull was thinking aloud saying, “If you fly on a plane…”

“You can’t fly there on a plane!” Foxworthy exclaimed.

Pitbull still continued to say that flying on a plane could mean 30,000 above earth. Fallon told him that he meant the unit of measurement, “feet.” Pitbull answered 40,000 miles.

Unfortunately, the correct answer was 94,071,277. Since Pitbull was the closest to the answer, he gained 10 points and won the game.

The new season of “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader” premieres on Tuesday, May 26, at 8:00 p.m. on FOX.
