"Bang Bang" was one of the biggest songs of 2014, so to perform the track at the 42nd American Music Awards was a great choice. When Ariana Grande, 21, Jessie J, 26, and Nicki Minaj, 31, brought their hit to the 2014 AMAs. The trio rocked the stage. According to Perez Hilton, the performance began with Jessie walking through the crowd and then danced her way over to Taylor Swift, Khloe Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Lorde and Sam Smith before Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj joined her on stage.
The girls all looked sensational clad in different versions of dazzling gold ensembles on stage. Ariana was dressed in her signature two-piece performance ensembles. Jessie was dressed in a beautiful cutout jumper. Minaj was sporting a pair of shorts and a crop top.
According to E! News, the performance of the trio was choreographed by JLo’s ex-boyfriend, Casper Smart.
“I’m meeting Casper who is doing all the staging. The color choice is gold because it’s really hard to find gold clothes. It feels good. We’ve done the VMAs. We’ve had the time to get to know the song, all three of us,” revealed Jessie J to E! News:
Moreover, Grande tweeted after their "Bang Bang" performance. In addition to this joint performance, Ariana Grande also performed a medley of “Love Me Harder,” “Problem,” and “Break Free.” Nicki Minaj performed some new music with artist Skylar Grey, titled “Bed of Lies.”
