It has only been a month into the hiatus for CW’s hit superhero show, “Arrow”, and time can’t seem to get any faster as fans and viewers eagerly await the DC archer’s return to the small screen come later this year, in the fall. However, things behind the scenes are still as busy as ever, as the show’s creative team, according to their Twitter accounts, are busy hammering out details for the upcoming season, as well as the number of episodes one should expect, which was just released on Spoiler TV. Also, the fine folks over at DC All Access have posted a new video on their official website, in which they managed to glean some interesting information regarding the upcoming season from the cast members of the show. Read on to learn a little bit more about the show’s fourth season.
According to Spoiler TV, who released the number of episodes that the CW will be ordering from most of the channel’s line up. Fans and viewers can expect that the fourth season of the superhero show will be around twenty-three episodes, the same number as the ordered episodes of it’s fellow superhero show, “The Flash.” Also, the show’s third season also had the same number of episodes.
Meanwhile, the folks at DC All Access, according to a recent video post on their official website, managed to talk with the cast, specifically Katie Cassidy, Stephen Amell, Paul Blackthorne, David Ramsey and Emily Bett Rickards about the past season, and gleaned some insight into the upcoming fourth season.
According to the interview that Tiffany Smith of DC All Access had with Ramsey, who portrays John Diggle, the next season will be pretty big for his character, especially as one of the upcoming villains of the season is connected to him. He also mentioned that his character will start sporting “some kind of armor” as well.
Meanwhile, Rickards, who portrays Felicity Smoak talked about wearing the ATOM suit. She expressed that she hoped that her character would soon get her “funny back. She also hoped that Felicity and Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) would get to help Thea Queen (Willa Holland) out, as it her being the Red Arrow had been teased at the end of the third season.
Also, executive producer Marc Guggenheim took to Twitter to tease the fans regarding the first draft of the very first episode of the upcoming season. Not much is known regarding the first episode of the fourth season, except for the fact that the story came from Greg Berlanti and Beth Schwartz, that it was written by Wendy Mericle and Marc Guggenheim, and that it will be directed by Thor Fruedenthal. Aside from Freudenthal, according to her official Twitter account, Lexi Alexander will also be directing an episode for this upcoming season, and will direct her episode sometime in August.
