Before we get into the details of what will happen on Episode 4 “The Magician,” let us take a step back and recall what happened on Episode 3 “Corto Maltese.” Previously on “Arrow,” we saw how Thea (Willa Holland) underwent training with her father, Malcom Merlyn (John Barrowman). He taught her that “pain is inevitable and suffering is optional.”
Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) revealed to Oliver (Stephen Amell) that Thea was not in Italy. She was just in a small island in South America called Corto Maltese. Oliver then left to go there with Roy (Colton Haynes).
Meanwhile, Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson) asked Diggle (David Ramsey) to go with Oliver to check on Mark Shaw (David Cubitt), a field operative who has gone dark.
When Oliver and Thea finally talked things through, Thea made it clear that she does not want to go home. Diggle, on the other hand, went with Shaw to bust a deal. However, Diggle realized that Shaw tricked him.
Laurel (Katie Cassidy) tried to avenge Erica, an attendee in an AA meeting who was beaten up by her boyfriend. However, she ended up in the hospital.
Shaw took a chip from Diggle and went on with the sale of A.R.G.U.S. intel. Oliver, Roy and Diggle showed up on site and engaged in a fight with the mercenaries Shaw hired. Oliver and Roy took care of the mercenaries, while Diggle chased after Shaw. In the end, it was a mission accomplished.
As for Oliver, he revealed the truth to Thea about their father’s death and told her that their parents' sacrifices would be put into waste if they are not together. This somehow got Thea into thinking of going home. She then had a mock fight with her father, but he let her win.
In the airport, Thea showed up and came home with Oliver. As for Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), the applied sciences hard drive that he asked Felicity to take care of contains files on advanced weapons.
Spoiler Alert: “Arrow” Season 3 Episode 4 “The Magician” airs on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at 8:00 p.m. on The CW. This episode is written by Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle, with John behring as the director.
In Episode 3 “Corto Maltese,” Nyssa (Katrina Law) showed up at Verdant, demanding to know where Sara (Caity Lotz) is. According to Spoilers Guide, Nyssa will work with Oliver in order to find out who killed Sara.
Meanwhile, when Oliver learns that Malcolm Merlyn is still alive, he suspects that he is the one who killed Sara. Laurel, on the other hand, will be distant with Nyssa because she blames Sara’s death on her affiliation with the League of Assassins.
Moreover, Roy and Oliver will make up for the time lost with Thea, while Nyssa will talk about Oliver with her father, Ra’s al Ghul, who will be played by Matt Nable.
In a sneak peek, Nyssa reveals that Merlyn was a member of the League of Assassins. Ra’s al Ghul released him, thinking that he would abide with the league’s code of conduct. Nyssa also notes that Merlyn’s undertakings violated the league’s principles, and they were on a hunt for him. From there, “Team Justice for Sara” deduced that Sara was tracking Merlyn.
