“Arrow’s” winter finale pulled out all the stops as they treated viewers with one heart pounding situation after the other, concluding in fans and viewers wanting for January 20, 2016 to come faster. Thankfully, a promotional video which gives a glimpse into what to expect for that episode has just been released. Aside from this, it was recently teased that a new villain will be coming to town, along with a very familiar face. WARNING: This article will contain major spoilers for the fourth season winter finale, “Dark Waters”, and for the rest of the fourth season.
The winter finale of the fourth season of “Arrow” truly defied the expectations of the show’s fans and viewers.
Last year, fans were shocked to see Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) seemingly killed by the old Ra’s Al Ghul.
This time around, Oliver declared war on Damein Dahrk (Neal McDonough) in broad daylight, which cost him heartache after heartache.
First, Thea Queen (Willa Holland), John Diggle (David Ramsey) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) were kidnapped and placed inside a gas chamber, which almost caused them to die.
Then, after Oliver proposed to Felicity, his happiness was snatched from right under his feet as Felicity got hit and was severely injured after Dahrk’s forces rained bullets down on Oliver and her during an ambush.
The second half of the season, according to the promotional video released on Comic Book Resources, will begin right where the winter finale left off, with Felicity being wheeled into the emergency room.
Oliver, watching the doctors and nurses swarm around a critically injured Felicity, then began to blame himself for what had happened.
The scene then cut to the graveyard scene that was shown at the end of the first episode, six months after Oliver’s and Felicity’s return to Star City, where Oliver promised whoever was in the grave that he would “kill him”- the man responsible for that person’s demise.
The name on the tombstone has not yet been revealed, but it seems like events are beginning to fall into place, setting up the eventual death of that character. Also, it was revealed the the next episode will be entitled “Blood Debts.”
Fans, however, can look forward to one thing in the second half of the fourth season- the return of Roy Harper (Colton Haynes), although the reunion might not be as Team Arrow imagined.
According to TV Line, Roy’s reappearance will come alongside the debut of the villain known as “The Calculator,” who will be portrayed by actor Tom Amandes.
The Calculator or Noah Kuttler, is described as a computer whiz, who uses his abilities for evil, and to blackmail Roy into working for him.
Do you think that Felicity Smoak will survive her current ordeal? Who do you think is in the grave? Are you excited for Tom Amandes’ debut on the show, and the return of Colton Haynes? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
