The open-ended departure of Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) or Arsenal in the third season of the CW’s “Arrow” gave fans of the show, the universe and of Roy Harper much to discuss, especially with his new identity as “Jason the mechanic.” He promptly left the auto shop he had been working in after Thea Queen (Willa Holland) paid him a visit. However, fans of the character and of the actor will be pleased to learn that they might just get to learn a little bit more about what Roy has been up to, and to what his future will be as it was recently learned that Roy Harper will once again walk the streets of Star City in an upcoming episode. WARNING: This article may contain spoilers regarding Roy Harper’s comeback. Read on to learn more about Roy Harper’s reappearance and as to when he will be making an appearance in the season.

Many were shocked after Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) departed the show, but breathed a temporary sigh of relief. It was after discovering that his future is open-ended, especially after he, as “Jason the car mechanic,” left Monument Point after his ex-girlfriend, Thea Queen (Willa Holland) showed up.

However, fans of the actor and the character can breathe a welcome sigh of relief as TV Line has just reported that Roy Harper’s Arsenal will definitely be making an appearance during the fourth season of “Arrow.”

This was confirmed by Haynes himself, who enthusiastically posted on Twitter on Nov. 21, 2015, that he had just arrived at Vancouver, in order to start filming for that particular episode.

According to TV Line, executive producer Marc Guggenheim has said that they had been planning on bringing Roy back sometime during the fourth season. He  confirmed that Roy would be coming back in the twelfth episode of the season, which, according to Guggenheim’s Twitter post, will be entitled “Unchained.”

This, of course, according to TV Line’s interview with executive producer Wendy Mericle, will definitely have an impact on Thea, especially as she is starting to begin a relationship with her older brother’s campaign adviser, Alex Davis (Parker Young).

“Unchained’s” production, according to Guggenheim’s Twitter post, began on Nov. 21, 2015, the same exact date that Haynes flew to Vancouver to begin filming for “Arrow” again. The episode will be directed by Kevin Fair, and it was written by Speed Weed and Beth Schwartz.
