The 28-year-old “Arrow” star Katie Cassidy has joined New Line’s period drama film, “The Wolves at the Door,” which is directed by “The Conjuring” director John Leonetti.
The “Taken” actress will star opposite Miles Fisher (Gossip Girl), Elizabeth Henstridge (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Adam Campbell (The Five Year Engagement).
“The Wolves at the Door” is a period drama film written by Gary Dauberman, known for his work in “Annabelle.” Set in 1969, Katie Cassidy’s part is being inspired by Sharon Tate.
The film will take its cues from the horrifying Manson Murders in Los Angeles. Also known as Tate murders, the actual events took place in Los Angeles where actress Sharon Tate, who was pregnant for eight and a half months, along with her three other friends were brutally shot and stabbed to death by cult fanatics of Charles Manson.
According to the latest news from the The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Peter Safran is producing “The Wolves at the Door” whose principal photography is all set to begin on mid-May in Los Angeles.
With the writer-director duo of “The Conjuring” and “Annabelle” in one project, we guess its safe to say that the horror film holds much promise. The film is also expected to be a box office hit after its release.
Horror film fanatics have waited for 20 years for the movie that will be based on the Manson Murders. Disgusting as they were, the psychological side is fantastic. We just hope that the writer and director will do justice with Sharon Tate and the rest of the victims of the Manson Murders.
At the moment, there is still no official release date for “The Wolves at the Door.”
