As the stars of the fall television season and mid season begin filming and reading scripts for their respective upcoming shows, little hints and teases, which cause rampant speculation among the fans, are often dropped. Thankfully, several interviews, such a recent interview with “Arrow” executive producer Marc Guggenheim, and several interviews with the cast of the hit television show featuring the Emerald Archer and his teammates are available in order to create even more theories, and to dispel rumors of what might not be happening at all. WARNING: This article may contain spoilers for “Arrow” Season 4. Read on to learn more about what else will be happening in the upcoming fourth episode.
When it comes to the romantic relationships on the show, the pairing of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) is one that fans of the show have been waiting for since the first season, and finally, at the end of the third season, that wish was granted as the pair left Starling City for an unknown destination.
Recently, “Arrow” star Stephen Amell posted a picture on Twitter which shows a photo of his Oliver Queen and Emily Bett Rickards’ Felicity happily posing in front of a mountain range. However, the more intriguing question is where exactly this photo on the set of the “Arrow” it had been placed, as it looked like as if it had been mounted upon a wall of some sorts.

According to Comic Book Resources, Amell teased that Oliver, over the five month hiatus, had learned new domestic skills, as both he and Felicity have finally gotten settled down, and according to Bett Rickards, these moments, and this season is the happiest that the pair, and Oliver have ever been. Bett Rickards also teased that Felicity’s search for a new meaning and purpose in life, as she is no longer with Team Arrow, will be a major theme for her character.
Amell also teased that the themes of “magic and mysticism” will be highlighted during this season, as it is part of the reason that brings Oliver back home, and will also be featured in flashbacks back to Lian Yu.
The actor also teased that he believed that it was probable that his character would finally learn more about his son, who was mentioned in the crossover episode with “The Flash”, during a case which brought them to Central City.
Speaking of visiting different cities in their universe, the actor told The Hollywood Reporter that Coast City, which had been referenced to before, will be featured in the upcoming season as Oliver will end up meeting a friend there. This, and the fact that Ferris Airlines had been alluded to allowed fans to speculate that David Ramsey’s John Diggle would become an iteration of the “Green Lantern”, which Guggenheim denied.
Instead, according to Comic Book Resources, Diggle will become a hero whose identity surprised Ramsey. However, he mentioned that fans of the character will not be disappointed with his new identity.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Diggle will be donning a helmet, which added fuel to the fire of theories that Diggle might just become “The Guardian”, a hero who is a brilliant fighter.
Comic Book Resources has confirmed that Thea Queen (Willa Holland) will definitely become Speedy, and she told The Hollywood Reporter that she hopes that she would also be able to don Mia Dearden’s yellow cape.
It was also speculated that Thea might also become a villain in the future, as her story arc is somewhat similar to the “Batman” villain the Red Hood, as she, just like Jason Todd, a Robin that had died, had been resurrected via a Lazarus Pit. Also, this theory is linked to the fact that Roy Harper is now known as “Jason” in his new city.
Last but not least, it was teased on Comic Book Resources that Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) is a more experience Black Canary, and the actress expressed hope that she and Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law) would be able to reconcile and bond with each other. However, Captain Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) has reconciled with his daughter, but is taking a more “pragmatic” approach to Team Arrow.
Do you think Thea Queen will take a more villainous turn? What do you think about that theory? Where do you think Felicity and Oliver went? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
