“Assassin’s Creed” has announced another update even before it was produced. The most recent development is that Michael Fassbender will be very much involved in the upcoming movie adaptation. Although there aren’t many improvements with the preproduction, another revelation was given that the movie shall be set during the Spanish inquisition. Read on to know more about this scoop.
“X-Men” Star Michael Fassbender is set to be the protagonist of the “Assassin’s Creed” movie adaptation whilst Justin Kurzel will be the one who shall be directing it. Apart from those two things, there were still no further updates until Film Divider revealed very interesting details on the storyline based on the appointed playwright Michael Leslie.
The movie shall take place in two different timelines with Fassbender playing two separate roles. In the present setting, Fassbender will take the role of Michael Lynch. Lynch was sentenced to death row for his connection in the on-going historical bout between the Assassins and the Templars.
His ancient counterpart is a character named Aguilar de Agarorobo, who lived during the time of Spanish Inquisition. His memories shall be re-lived through a device called Animus. It is an ancient technological device that allows people to read someone’s DNA and relatively access their memories.
In the present timeline, Michael shall be subjected in a series of experimentations conducted by one researcher named Joseph. Judging from the way he uses human test subjects, we could assume that this guy is one of the bad people.
In what seemed like an overwhelming setting, the protagonist will not be alone in going through all these tribulations as he will be assisted by another Assassin named Lara. She might someone who can also gain access to the past sections of her ancestor’s lives.
A lot of people were shocked with this type of plot revelation because nobody expected the storyline to trudge on such movie premise. Be that as it may every detail that is applied in the movie will be greatly scrutinized by Ubisoft Motion Pictures (UMP).
According to Screen Rant, UMP will be collaborating with New Regency Pictures and Sony but the company will still have rigid amount of control in the creative decision making of the scripts, casting and production decisions. “Assassin’s Creed” will, after all, debut as a film production and as much as possible, they want to get as many positive remarks as they did in the video game. With that, the movie is still set for release on August 7, 2015.
That sums up our update for the upcoming “Assassin’s Creed” movie adaptation. Tune into Movie News Guide (MNG) for more happenings in the entertainment world.
