The first live-action “Attack on Titan” film would get its limited theatrical show in the U.S. and Canada on September 30. The second installment of the film would be released on October 20.
FUNimation Entertainment announced, on August 14, the first and second “Attack on Titan” film’s release dates in the theaters in Canada and the U.S., according to AnimeNewsNetwork. The announcement was accompanied with an English-subtitled trailer. The source reported that the Funimation would start the ticket sales for the film on their official website at the end of this month.
The company has already released the “world premiere of the first movie in Hollywood in July.” In Japan, the first film of “Attack on Titan” was already released on August 1, while the second installment would be released on September 19.
The stars of the film are Haruma Miura as Eren, Kiko Mizuhara as Mikasa, Kanata Hongo as Armin, Satomi Ishihara as Hans/Hanji, Nanami Sakuraba as Sasha, Takahiro Miura as Jean, Hiroki Hasegawa as Shikishima, Ayame Misaki as Hiana, Pierre Taki as Souda, Jun Kunimura as Kubal, Shu Watanabe as Fukushi, Satoru Matsuo as Sannagi, and Rina Takeda as Lil.
The cast comprises seven new characters in the movie version of the story. Indeed, Shikishima, Hasegawa’s character, plays the key role in the film. This character is portrayed as “humanity’s strongest man” in the film.
Shinji Higuchi, the director of “Attack on Titan,” declared that the film’s story depends on the manga’s characters. He also added that new characters and new formidable enemies have been introduced in the movie version of the manga story. The director further revealed that the new characters have been introduced into the film’s story under the supervision of Hajime Isayama, the “Attack on Titan” manga creator.
