“Avatar 2,” the phenomenal sequel to 2009 “Avatar” hasn’t revealed anything on the plot still. The fans are hoping for its 2017 release, but no updates are actually there on the progress of filming. “Avatar 2, 3 and 4” are being shot simultaneously and will have consecutive December releases.
All “Avatar” sequels will be released on Christmas with “Avatar 2” releasing on Dec. 25, 2017. Recent reports have confirmed that the plot’s main focus are still Jake and Neytiri and, they will have kids this time!
Jake and Neytiri will be seen fighting off humans as the dark war between Humans and Na’vi is set to take place again with the return of Stephen Lang as Col. Miles Quaritch. Also, returning is Sigourney Weaver but it is yet not clear what character she will play, noted IMDb.
Oceans of Pandora will of course be explored but so are the many different locations of Pandora during the upcoming three sequels. Zoe Saldana is returning as Neytiri and Jake Sully will again be played by Sam Worthington.
Jake and Neytiri’s kids are going to be half-human, half-Na’vi. Apart from this, many new characters and creatures are set to make the debut. “Avatar 2” will be written and directed by James Cameron and, extended screenplay help will be from Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.
Also, an interesting thing to note is that “Avatar” sequels are not a trilogy but sequels to the “Avatar” Universe. In his recent interview with Fox News, James Cameron clarified about the upcoming moview.
“We’re shooting two films back-to-back, so I’m writing two scripts, not one, which will complete a [three]-film story arc – not really a trilogy, but just an overall character arc so I’m pretty excited about that. We’re doing a lot of preliminary work right now on new software and new animation techniques and so on.” Cameron said.
