James Cameron’s “Avatar 2” would release around Christmas time in 2017 as the script is not ready yet. 2009’s “Avatar” was made in 14 years. Would “Avatar 2” get ready in 2 years?
Sadly, “Avatar 2” didn’t hit the theaters on Christmas of 2016. According to Parent Herald, the 61-year-old director, James Cameron has said that they are targeting Christmas of 2017.
“But I don’t consider that to be as important as the fact that when we get all three films done, we drop them a year apart,” Cameron said.
It has been learned that the pre-production team is working by giving a lot of attention to details as the actors would be doing 3 movies all at once. Yes, you read it right. “Avatar 3” and “Avatar 4” are also in the making.
According to the publication, 20th Century Fox has stated that “Avatar 2” would lay the foundation for the storylines of “Avatar 3” and “Avatar 4.” While the second installment would release in 2017, the other two movies would release in 2018 and 2019.
Cameron added: “I call it a meta-narrative that runs across the three movies.”
It has been learnt that the team of the trilogy has been facing many perplexities regarding interconnecting the script of the three movies. As a result, Cameron ended up shifting the release date of “Avatar 2” from 2016 to 2017.
There are high expectations from the second installment no doubt and the movie makers are quite aware of it. The producer of the movie, Jon Landau has said that they don’t want to disappoint the viewers, and want to deliver something that exceeds their expectations.
According to Screen Rant, Cameron is lately engaged in working with four writers to produce a full story for the trilogy. Cameron also wants to bring before the audience a movie that has excellent VFX visual effects and a world they have never witnessed before on big screen.
The movie resorts to shooting done on high frame rate and underwater motion capture. The fictional moon, Pandora would be something that would bring viewers to theaters for sure.
Cameron has disclosed that the design work of “Avatar 2” is almost complete and it was really a big task to do. It involved creating all the creatures and landscapes and the worlds in Pandora. He stated that the technical developments are all complete, and various stages and infrastructure in the movie has been finished too.
Cameron has still not disclosed much about the plot. We only know that the story would have Sam Worthington’s Jake Sully and Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri. The characters that have died, Sigourney Weaver’s Dr. Grace Augustine and Stephen Lang’s Colonel Quaritch would also be there in the movie.
So fans, since much work of the movie, “Avatar 2” has been completed, it can be expected that there would not be more delays and the movie would hit the cinema halls in 2017; keep your fingers crossed. Watch the trailer of the movie below!
