According to some latest reports, Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver have recently signed the contract for “Avatar 2.” Director James Cameron, the remarkable stalwart behind the Hollywood’s one of the most successful sci-fi-film, “Avatar,” confirmed Lang’s resurrection in the second installment.
“Steven was so memorable in the first film, we’re privileged to have him back. I’m not going to say exactly how we’re bringing him back, but it’s a science fiction story, after all. His character will evolve into really unexpected places across the arc of our new three-film saga,” Cameron opined, as reported by Movie Pilot.
Lang has reportedly signed for “Avatar 3” and “Avatar 4.” This latest confirmation has not only brought excitement among the global fans, they are even wondering how Cameron will present Lang and Weaver’s characters in the upcoming “Avatar 2,” despite the fact that they both lost their lives in the original movie.
In “Avatar,” we have seen Weaver’s character Dr. Grace Augustine was shot by Col. Quatrich. An attempt was given to restore her life by transferring her consciousness into her avatar body, but she died before the process could be completed.
However, according to Venture Capital Post, Cameron teased at the Blu-ray press event saying that “nobody dies in a sci-fi movie.” He then added that it would be up to Weaver’s agent whether or not Grace lives in “Avatar 2” and the other sequels.
“Avatar 2” is slated to hit the big screens during Christmas 2017.
