During his Reddit Ask Me Anything, Cameron spoke about the upcoming “Avatar” films.
“The second, third and fourth films all go into production simultaneously. They’re essentially all in pre-production now because we are designing creatures, settings and characters than span all three films. And we should be finished with all three scripts within the next, I would say, six weeks,” said Cameron in his Reddit Ask Me Anything.
The writer- director is also very excited for these sequels. With his plan to film them all simultaneously, we can expect that the first sequel will come out in 2016, the next will be in 2017 and the last will be in 2018. Now that’s pretty amazing! After years of waiting, fans are going to finally see it again on the big screen.
When asked about how he’s dealing with pressure, Cameron said that pressure is everywhere for him.
“There’s always pressure, whether it’s a new film or whether it’s a sequel, to entertain and amaze an audience. I’ve felt that pressure my entire career, so there’s nothing new there. the biggest pressure I feel right now is cutting out things I love to get the film down to a length that is affordable. There hasn’t been a problem finding new and wonderful things to include in the movie,” replied Cameron in his Reddit Ask Me Anything.
The “Avatar” sequels are set to begin production in 2014.
