Avengers: Infinity War will finally bring Thanos to Earth. With him wielding the ultimate power in the Marvel universe, it would practically be impossible to defeat or kill him.

Since heroes are always the one who end up defeating the bad guys, there might be some other way to defeat the mad titan. Considering every possibility, here are six ways Thanos can be defeated.

Massive team-up

It is no surprise that Avengers: Infinity War is going to see a massive team-up of heroes. With both the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy appearing together in the movie, they will surely at one point of time join forces to take down Thanos.

Considering there are some really powerful heroes on both the sides, including Thor, Hulk, Drax, the Destroyer, and many others, a massive team-up could weaken Thanos’ spirit somehow.

The Illuminati

Back in the comics, The Illuminati was basically Marvel’s most intellectual minds coming together and forming a group to keep the world safe from all kinds of threats.

Iron Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Reed Richards, Black Bolt, Namor, and Professor X were members of this secret organization. Since some of the heroes are not really in the MCU, it could have a slightly different version.

So in MCU, Iron Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Bruce Banner, or heroes like Thor, and Captain Marvel could come together to form the group. They could also come up with a solution to tackle Thanos and later on try to figure out how to keep on functioning.

WhatCulture reported that Vision could be the key to defeating Thanos. While it is known that the infinity stone on his head could lead to his death, he could still make an effective contribution by bringing the mad titan down.

According to the outlet, back in the comics, when Thanos murdered Adam Warlock and took the Soul Gem from him, Adam’s soul moved inside the gem. From there he was able to set himself free and with the newly attained powers and turned Thanos to stone.

The outlet stated that something like that could happen in Vision’s case too. After his death at the hands of Thanos, his consciousness could be kept alive in the Mind stone.

With him alive in the Mind stone, he could potentially help Tony Stark essentially hack the Infinity Gauntlet and take it away from the mad titan. Once the Gauntlet is taken, Thanos will not remain as powerful and can be easily defeated.

The Elders of the Universe

The outlet also named The Elders of the Universe as a potential key to stopping Thanos. Each of the members of The Elders is the last one of their race and all of them collectively hold God-like powers.

Back in the comics they had regularly opposed Thanos and the same could happen in the movies. While they might not have a direct connection in the battle, they could assist the heroes in a way that could help the heroes slow Thanos down or stop his plan.

The outlet stated that The Collector is one of the Elders and soon MCU is going to add The Grandmaster and Ego the Living Planet to the list. If these members come together and help the heroes, Thanos can certainly be stopped.

Cate Blanchett’s Hela will be the main villain in Thor: Ragnarok. There are reports that she will have some kind of role to play in Avengers: Infinity War. Maybe she will be one of the villains who teams up with Thanos to fight against the heroes.

But at a crucial point, if she were to betray the mad titan for the ultimate power, that could lead to his defeat. Again without the Gauntlet, Thanos will not have much power, leading to heroes easily overpowering him.

Captain America’s sacrifice

Chris Evans’ Marvel contract will come to an end after Avengers: Infinity War. Being the righteous hero that he is, maybe in order to save others he will give up his own life.

Looking at him make the ultimate sacrifice, heroes will naturally get motivated and do whatever they can to stop and defeat Thanos. Also following Steve’s death, his best friend Bucky could end up becoming the next Captain America.

It remains to be seen how exactly the heroes will manage to defeat Thanos, especially with him holding Infinite power.

Avengers: Infinity War will be released on May 4, 2018.
