Know more about how rising actress Elizabeth Olsen got the works to play as Wanda, a.k.a the Scarlet Witch, in the upcoming Marvel Studio film, “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” as she explained what she’s been through the course of her portrayal and who her character is. Read on to learn more about this scoop.
Elizabeth Olsen has been one of the high-regarded rising actresses who graced the big screens last year. She was partnered with Aaron Taylor-Johnson in “Godzilla” as his wife and the mother of his child. This year, she will be appearing alongside the same actor not as his wife, but as his dear sibling as the two wreak some havoc fighting against the Avengers, initially siding with Ultron (James Spader). With everybody wanting to know who is really good and bad in the upcoming Box Office film, Olsen shares the things she’s had to go through as she portrayed the role of the Scarlet Witch as well as the gravity of her role in the movie.
According to ComicBookMovie.com, Olsen recently chatted with Empire Magazine, and she explained her portrayal of Wanda Maximoff as more of a dancer than a fighter. She may not have gone through the same violent training as most of the cast did, but she certainly experienced her own share of pains during the preparation phase. She said,
“The coolest thing about Scarlet Witch is, because you’ve never seen her, we got to create how she moves. Joss was really inspired by dancers, and so he knew that he wanted to change visually how she moves, to be more like a dancer than a fighter. I didn’t really have to do much stunt training. Instead I trained with a dancer, Jenny White, which was its own kid of soreness, but it wasn’t what I thought it would be,” Olsen shared.
Olsen also revealed a more significant approach to “The Twins” and how essential they are in the creation of this movie opposite to the speculations that claimed how their presence only gave the film a crowded feel.
“Age of Ultron is almost our origin story, so we don’t have one of those montages where heroes learn all of their powers in five minutes. We are still discovering the things we can and cannot do. The extent of her powers isn’t fully explored in Ultron. But she can manipulate objects. And she has visions, and she has the ability to share them,” she explained and added how the Scarlet Witch is no mutant at all!
With the entire confusing plot that people have speculated over the course of the second “Avengers” film, a lot didn’t really understand how The Twins started off from abhorring the Avengers to fighting alongside them. She then divulged that it was all a in the matter of how they were brought up hating the Avengers and eventually taking a shift to knowing what’s really what.
Olsen will appear on “Avengers: Age of Ultron” together with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany, and James Spader, amongst all others. The movie opens on May 1, 2015.
