If there is one thing a person definitely wants to avoid, whether it is planned or accidental, it is meeting an ex, regardless of a clean or awkward breakup between them. Don’t you think so? Find out how One Direction’s Harry Styles tried to avoid his exes at the Amaerican Music Awards 2014.

It seems like Lady Luck was not on One Direction’s Harry Styles’ side one fateful night when he attended the 42nd American Music Awards on Nov. 23, 2014. Not only did Styles see an ex-girlfriend; he saw two. On one side, there was Kendall Jenner, and on the other, there was Taylor Swift, just a few seats away from where he and his bandmates Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson were sitting.

As if the night’s surprises were not enough, Styles, and practically everyone in the audience, watched as Swift performed for the night. Upon reaching the end of her new song, “Blank Space,” Swift surprised everyone by actually pointing straight at Styles, as if trying to make a point. However, reportedly, Styles seemed to have taken the gesture with a grain of salt and was seen looking over at his bandmates and smirking during this incident.

For the rest of the night, though, the three celebrities avoided each other by hanging out with and talking to other people, even during the commercial breaks. Swift chatted with Selena Gomez, Kendall with her sisters, Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, and Styles with his bandmates.

As far as things have gone, it seems that Styles has not made any move to interact with his exes, nor they to him. And there you have it for the latest scoop on One Direction’s Harry Styles, avoiding exes at the recently held American Music Awards.
