With four seasons under its belt, “Baby Daddy” keeps up with Ben, a young man in his early 20s living the life of a bachelor in New York City with his best buddy, Tucker, and his brother, Danny. Their lives change drastically when they find a baby girl left on the doorstep by an ex-girlfriend of Ben’s. Ben chooses to raise the baby with the help of his friends, and his protective and sometimes over-bearing mother, Bonnie. (via ABC Family)
The series recently wrapped Season 4, ending the riotous Danny-Riley-Ben love triangle but Realty Today reports that Ben might have some regrets about his decision to let Riley go in Season 5. Read on for more details.
TV Line confirmed that actress Allie Gonino (‘The Lying Game”, “The Red Road”) will play Ben’s new flame. Gonino will star as Sam, a girl who applies as a manager at Ben and Danny’s bar and to spice things up, it turns out that she also happens to be Ben’s high school crush!
Ben will be reminded of his juvenile feelings for Sam and since they all went to the same high school, Riley will be a little apprehensive about Ben reuniting with Sam. Why, you say? It was also divulged that Sam was a mean girl when they were teenagers and used to bully Riley.
In an exclusive with TV Line, creator Dan Berendsen (“Sabrina, the Teenage Witch”, “The Nine Lives of Chloe King”) shared that Season 5 will be a little bit of both of a pick-up and a time jump. The first episode will reveal the aftermath of the proposal, as well as fast-forward to what is happening a month later.
“We wanted to show Danny and Riley mid-relationship, rather than doing the same stories we’ve done with Ben and Riley, like their awkward first date. We wanted to go to some fresh territory.” he said.
Excited for the upcoming new season yet? Viewers may have a few more questions in mind: Is this really the end of the Ben-Riley-Danny love triangle? What’s next for Bonnie and Brad? All these and more will be answered when “Baby Daddy” Season 5 premieres on ABC Family sometime next year.
