“Bad Judge” Season 1 Episode 3 “One Brave Waitress” aired on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at 9:00 p.m. on NBC. Judge Rebecca Wright has a sexual harassment case in her court, and the defendant was really obnoxious. In her personal life, Rebecca had to lay down the cards for hot fireman, Billy, after he asked her to the Fireman’s Ball. Read on to learn what happened in this latest episode.
The show opened with Rebecca (Kate Walsh) getting instructions from Billy (Ryan McPartlin), the hot fireman, about the “triangle,” a martial arts move that can knock the opponent down. While their bodies were intertwined on the floor, with Rebecca trying to execute the move, Billy asked her if she could be his date to the Fireman’s Ball. Not wanting to answer the question, Rebecca knocked Billy out.
Later, Billy was at the courthouse in full fireman gear, shouting for Judge Wright’s name. She tried to avoid him when he saw her in the elevator, but he caught up. Did he ask her to the fireman’s ball? He couldn’t remember because it looked like he fell asleep. Rebecca still evaded answering his question and made up all these excuses. The two ended up in a used car shop, where Rebecca bought a pickup truck to replace the van she lost (in last week’s episode “Meteor Shower” air date: Oct. 9, 2014). Crazy thing was, she drove away in her new truck, leaving Billy.
Back in the courthouse, Judge Wright was tasked to handle a sexual harassment case against Chad Forbes, the owner of BJ Knockers, a restaurant where the waitresses wore skimpy uniforms. Tom Barlow (John Ducey) from the prosecution believed that they have a damning piece of evidence against Forbes. One of the other waitresses kept a diary that detailed all of the harassments.
Forbes was a suave and attractive man who admitted that what could be written in the diary is true. While on the stand to defend himself, Judge Wright was rolling her eyes at him, clearly convinced that he was a predator. His sexy and attractive lawyer, hired for the fact that she had the looks to distract some of the jurors, however, pointed out that the owner of the diary wasn’t willing to testify in court. She moved to have this disallowed into evidence, as it would be considered heresy.
Judge Wright: I see your point, but this court feels that the diary corroborates Miss Jam’s testimony. Motion denied.
Forbes’ lawyer, however, pushed for an interlocutory appeal, meaning, Judge Wright’s boss, Judge Hernandez, would have to go over the case and rule on it, which unfortunately was what he did. Dismissed and free of the case, Rebecca warned Forbes that one day, the state will pin him down for this.
Judge Wright: This is gonna end badly for you. It’s simple math.
Forbes: No, I like math…come here, you little tease.
He called the judge a little tease! So, Rebecca lunges at the man and did the triangle on him, knocking him down. Justice delivered!
Later that night, as Rebecca was capping her night off at a bar with Billy, she thanked him for teaching her the triangle. He said he was glad she called coz he wasn’t sure he’ll hear from her again. He also said that he started reading another book, but as Billy explained that he couldn’t understand what it was about, Rebecca was turned off once more and said that she didn’t want to go to the Fireman’s Ball with him.
Rebecca: I just don’t feel that there’s a thing between us. You’ve read one book. I’ve read like a thousand or more books.
Billy: I’m so relieved! The truth is I’m struggling to find things to talk about with you. I was just feeling bad about sleeping with you coz you’re hot. But I tell you what, if you ever start reading less, give me a call, huh?
Was that the last we’ll see of Billy?

The episode also had a bit with Judge Wright not remembering the stenographer’s name (it was Judy), a minor storyline.
