A&E’s “Bates Motel” got re-opened again for Season 2 with a new promo and characters. However, it’s still not the safest place to check-in.
The newest promo entitled “Who is Norman Bates?” was released on March 7, 2014.
Freddy Highmore and award-winning actress Vera Farmiga reprise their roles as the disturbing mother-and-son tandem with the teenage version of our favourite Psycho-in-the-making Norman Bates and his dragon lady mother, Norma, for yet another spine-tingling season. It will unravel not only the darkest secrets of their White Pine Bay, Oregon town, but also of each other.
According to TVLine, A&E Network renewed the show for another season and it’s not surprising because the series is critically acclaimed. After its March premiere in 2013, “Bates Motel” got picked up due to the great praises and cumulative high ratings on its original debut.
TV By The Numbers which gets its ratings from the Nielsen Company, reported that Season 1 Episode 1 entitled “First You Dream, Then You Die” is the most-watched original drama debut in the network’s history with 4.5 million viewers in total.
With its strong debut, it is possible for history to repeat itself and the success of the latest Bates Motel Season 2 can be a proof of that.
According to The Wrap, Season 2 Episode 1 entitled “Gone But Not Forgotten,” which premiered last March 3, 2014, got a total of 3.1 million viewers!

Picking up from last season, Norman (Freddie Highmore) is fixating on Miss Watson’s death while Norma’s mysterious past starts to haunt the family with the introduction of her brother. Meanwhile, Norman’s brother Dylan, (Max Thieriot), gets more entrenched in the familial drug war that fuels White Pine Bay and finds himself right in the middle of the danger as Bradley (Nicola Peltz), who remains on the hunt to uncover her father’s killer, is driven to precarious extremes. Sheriff Romero (Nestor Carbonell), is caught up on all fronts as everything in town escalates and Emma (Olivia Cooke) complicates her relationship with Norman as the duo explore new love interests, bringing new and old characters along for the ride.”
