So, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is about Man v God, right? Then what exactly is Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor doing in the same equation? This is one of those questions that has bugged everyone for a while now. They don’t really see Jesse Eisenberg play the role of Lex Luthor; well they don’t have to because he’s not playing Lex Luthor.
According to Movie Pilot, who reported this year’s one of the most shocking revelations in the comic world, stated that Jesse is not playing the Lex that we thought he would be playing, instead he is playing the role of Lex Luthor Jr. aka Alexander Joseph Luthor Jr.
The profile of the character Jesse is playing originally appeared in Fortune Magazine and made the most coveted revelation. According to the media outlet, the magazine has done a fictional piece profiling on Alexander Luthor Jr. and quite frankly that answers every single query everyone (including me) has had at one point of time.
It explains how Luthor Jr. turned LexCorp into a Fortune 500 company after his dad’s death back in 2000. So if he’s really not Lex Luthor and is in fact his son, I guess the enmity with the Man of Steel runs in the family. Luthor Jr. reportedly has habits like rappelling and coding in the “Crucible,” which is the R&D lab at LexCorp unlike his father who has been described as vicious and someone who had fascination with strange meteorite crystals.
Movie Web added that when Lex Sr. passed away in 2000, Lex Jr. took over and turned LexCorp into the second largest emerging tech corporation in the world. The largest of course is Wayne Enterprises because there’s no one who can match the genius of Bruce Wayne.
The only difference between the two corporations is that LexCorp does not mind taking military contracts as opposed to Wayne Enterprises who clearly refuse to. So it’s actually Lex’s son who will be facing off against two of the greatest superheroes in the world, the question here is why not Lex Luthor do it?
