A new version of the Dark Knight will be introduced with “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and naturally it was important to bring forward a look that would suit the new version. Said to be a bit older and mature version of the Batman, these two new images show just how the new costume was planned.
According to Comic Book, in one of the episodes of DC All Access, Michael Wilkinson who designed the holy trinity (Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman)’s costume explained just how he was able to design these menacing looks and what really went into making them.
After over a year of discussions with Zack and continuing till the movie started shooting, both Michael and the director kept on discussing what they wanted to see in these costumes and what was their motive behind making them the way it looks right now.
Recently, conceptual artist Jerad S.Marantz shared his images that he painted while working with Michael to give a more in-depth look at what went behind the scenes. Jerad, who shared the images of the Dark Knight suit, couldn’t stop praising the costume and how good it looked and what pleasure it was to work with Michael.
Jerad while sharing the images wrote that he feels lucky that he was able to focus on the characters and especially focus on working on the new Batman costume on which he had Michael by his side. Like every DC fan around, Jerad too confessed that it was like a childhood dream come true.
In the interview that Michael gave to DC All Access, he shared an inside story that while designing the Batman costume, they wanted to show Batman as this hulking guy who depends more on his menacing muscle than his gadgets to tackle his enemies.
Even the Batman armor that the Dark Knight will be using in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will only protect him against Superman’s attacks. It will not enhance his power in any way. He will have to rely on his personal strength and a little clever warfare techniques if he were to take down the Man of Steel.
Movie Pilot, on the other hand, reported that “Wonder Woman” solo film might just be a prequel to “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” It would show what Wonder Woman has been up to before her appearance as the Warrior Princess in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”
The movie will release on Mar. 25, 2016.
