The filming of “Beetlejuice 2” that is called as “Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian” would begin later this year, confirmed reports. This film would be a spin-off movie of the “Beetlejuice” series rather than being a sequel.
According to Cross Map, director Tim Burton, during an interview with IGN, declared that he is ready for another “Beetlejuice” movie as long as the star Micheal Keaton wishes to play the role of Beetlejuice. The director further added that he would love to work with Michael again. He even praised him saying that Michael could be the only Beetlejuice. Indeed, Keaton has also expressed his interest to be the Beetlejuice once again.
The source reported that “Beetlejuice 2” would not be a sequel, but would be a spin-off movie. WhatCulture reported that the upcoming “Beetlejuice” spin-off movie would be titled as “Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian.”
Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg would be the screenplay writers as well as producers of “Beetlejuice 2.” Smith is already popular for his work in “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” and “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.”
Smith also told iDigitalTimes that the team’s idea is right in approaching for the movie sequel, which is one of his favorite movies. He also told Entertainment Weekly that Keaton and Burton are excited about the idea of making “Beetlejuice 2,” and that they are ready to begin the filming at the end of this year.
Reports also revealed that Winona Ryder would reprise her role as Lydia Deetz in “Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian.” Even the director Burton has confirmed that she would appear in the sequel of “Beetlejuice.” Ryder has also confirmed the news during an interview with Late Night.
“Beetlejuice 2” is still in the development stage, and the whole team is excited to start the filming at the end of this year. The release date of the film is yet to be confirmed.
