The actor who made everybody swoon despite his lack of emotional quotient as he portrayed the British super sleuth Sherlock Holmes on BBC’s “Sherlock,” Benedict Cumberbatch is certainly and without a doubt a praiseworthy man. With three seasons successfully aired on television and the fourth currently in production, Cumberbatch continuously gathers Cumberbitches around the world as he is also gracing the big screen arena. After his hard-to-hate antagonistic supporting role in “Star Trek: Into the Darkness,” he is now on the road promoting his own based on a true story film “The Imitation Game.” With all of these compelling projects displaying his unquestionable prowess, one can’t really blame the girls for falling for his on-and-off screen charms. Not to mention his inexplicably sexy accent! Just recently, millions of hearts were broken when his engagement with Sophie Hunter was announced, but you can definitely count on the gentleman to offer a gesture of consolation to his beloved fans.
In the feature of Hollywood Reporter, the actor was promoting “The Imitation Game” on “Live! With Kelly and Michael” when host Kelly Ripa brought up the sentiments of broken hearted Cumberbitches subsequent to the announcement of his engagement with theater director Sophie Hunter. The 38-year-old actor then responded wittingly that one woman was definitely happy on the news of his engagement, either referring to his mother or his future wife. Be that as it may, he took it to himself to offer a message of consolation to his beloved fans.
"I'm very happy. I'm a very happy man. I have a great population of fans as well — they're smart, they'll get around to the idea. … Your ovaries do still have use, let me tell you!" remarked the actor creatively.
The “Sherlock” actor announced the coming of his union in the Forthcoming Marriages section of The Times newspaper. It read: “Mr BT. Cumberbatch and Miss S.I. Hunter: The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London.” (via Mirror UK)
According to the actor’s words, he’s chosen this way because it’s what he would have done if he wasn’t a prominent man. As it would seem, the practice is common for those who grew up in Blightly. Moreover, it is what he preferred in furthering his attempts of normalizing the situation over publicizing some grainy photography of some wedding ring.
